For this project I had to create a protective garment for my partner. We had to get together and talk about our fears, and her biggest one was losing herself and her culture once she moved here for college. I decided to make a dress out of transparent pictures that she shared with me, which included her family/friends and cultural objects as well as traditions. The idea behind it was that when she was facing the sun all these pictures would reflect onto her reminding her of where she comes from and who she is. The pictures were printed in transparent photo paper and put together with safety pins.
