In class we were all given different neighborhoods to research and I was fortunate enough to get Harlem. For this project we had to make a memorial for someone who was important in our neighborhoods in some kind of way and I decided to go with Duke Ellington because he made a huge impact in African American art. The piece is made our of plaster and gold spray paint.
